Parkway Area Adult Education and Literacy offers free ESL opportunities for adults in 37 classes consisting of a six-level program at our main center, off-site classes in churches and schools in seven school districts and classes in several workplace locations. Each year the program serves about 1,400 ESL students who come to us from over 90 countries.
Our classes are leveled and serve beginning, intermediate and advanced students. There is emphasis in all classes on life skills, which are needed by non-native speakers for basic survival and interaction in the community. We also teach reading, writing, conversation and idioms, as well as workplace skills for job training and advancement.
We offer free morning, afternoon and evening classes Monday through Friday. Registration and testing for placement takes about two hours and must be completed before students begin class. If you need more specific information or directions or just want to ask additional questions, please call us at Parkway Adult Education and Literacy at 314-415-4940. We will be glad to talk to you about classes for yourself or a friend or family member.
